THERMOGRAPHY EXPLAINED

Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI), also referred to as Thermography is a sensitive, safe, and affordable test that is using Infrared technology to photograph the body which give useful information about the physiology (functional aspect) of the body. It can detect subtle changes related to inflammation, blood flow and nerve conduction safely and without the use of contact, dyes, or radiation.

Radiography, CT, ultrasound, MRI, etc. are anatomical tests that study structure.  They utilize radiation, soundwaves, or magnetic fields to recreate an image of the structures inside the body.

Thermography is not a replacement for structural tests because it provides a different set of information.  But it is an important adjunctive test that can help with diagnosis, clinical correlation and often, it can even help solve “mystery pain”.  In many cases, thermography can provide information that no other test can provide as efficiently or as affordably.

To Summarize:

Most popular Thermography Services:

Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging With Us

A doctor referral is not necessary but helpful for evaluation of specific issues.  Imaging is performed by an ACCT Certified Clinical Thermographer using the Meditherm system.  Meditherm thermographers are located worldwide facilitating future comparison studies almost anywhere.

Equipment and Testing Environment:

Thermal Health Centre uses the med2000™ IRIS camera and software specifically designed for medical applications.  The system can measure temperatures ranging from 10° C – 55° C to an accuracy of 0.01° C.  Imaging is performed in a temperature-controlled room.

Our Certified Clinical Thermographers are accredited by the American College of Clinical Thermography.

DITI has been recognized as a viable diagnostic tool since 1987 by the AMA Council on Scientific Affairs, the ACA Council on Diagnostic Imaging, the Congress of Neuro-Surgeons in 1988, and in 1990 by the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
